The SMX-30Ⅱ is a microphone that allows you to switch between stereo and monaural with a single switch. This single microphone achieves optimal sound collection according to the shooting scene.
If you select the stereo mode, two cardioid microphone units separated at a 120° angle will operate, allowing you to record realistic sounds when photographing nature, street sounds, concerts, etc.
In monaural mode, a supercardioid microphone unit similar to the SGM-250 operates, ensuring that the desired sound is captured.
Oscillating mechanism that reliably captures voices and sounds When the subject of a person or musical instrument is located at the edge of the screen, the oscillating mechanism allows the microphone body to move approximately 30 degrees to the left or right, making it easier to point the microphone toward the center of the subject. You can reliably capture the core sound.
Low-cut switch Attenuates low frequency levels below 120Hz to reduce noise such as air conditioning, wind, and traffic noise.
Uniquely developed power supply "Auto" mode By connecting to a camera, it automatically detects whether the camera is turned on or off, and the microphone is also linked to switch battery power on and off, preventing battery consumption due to forgetting to turn off the power.
3-stage gain control Gain is 3-stage switchable: +20dB/0dB/-10dB. In quiet environments such as indoor interviews, reduce the gain on the camera side and select +20dB to minimize noise from the camera's preamplifier. Distortion can be suppressed by selecting -10dB when collecting sound in a lively environment such as a concert or sporting event.
Shock mount with excellent vibration isolation A shock mount with a unique structure reliably reduces vibrations and noise that occur during shooting. You can attach it to a tripod or boom pole using the 1/4 inch female thread on the bottom of the camera mounting shoe mount. By firmly fixing the cable to the cable stop on the shock mount, you can reduce the noise generated when contact occurs.
