Hypercardioid and subcardioid offer new options for sound engineers.
- A vocal microphone that maintains the high sound quality of the KSM9, but has two directivity characteristics: hypercardioid and subcardioid.
- Because it eliminates off-axis sound sources, the hypercardioid's ability to pick up vocalists on stage with high sound pressure is superior to that of the supercardioid, making it ideal for vocalists with low volumes.
- Subcardioid has a wider sound collection angle than cardioid, and is effective for quiet stages, capturing the atmosphere of the stage and providing a wider range of tones.
- Hypercardioid and subcardioid can be switched with a switch.
