DR-40Xは、外部マイク入力および+4dBuラインレベルの入力に対応し、信頼性の高いNeutrik社製ロック付XLR/TRSコンボ入力端子を２系統装備。ミキサー、またはPAコンソールの出力をバランス接続することが可能です。また、ファントム電源の供給にも対応しているためコンデンサーマイクも使用することができます。内蔵のステレオマイクを使用すれば、ライブ会場全体の録音をしながら、同時にPAコンソールの出力音声を録音するといった用途に活用できます。
